Our church is sending a Missions Team to work at a school – Centro Escolar LifeLink- in Sandino, Nicaragua.  Back in December, LifeLink missionaries Wayne and Megan Tingle were visiting the Triller family.  (Megan is related to Darren).  At the Triller’s home and also at church, the Tingles shared their exciting ministry leading a school for children in Sandino.  They encouraged us to send a team to help them. 

Wow…what a response to their request for help!  We have 15 BLC church members signed up and ready to go!  When you look at the list of those preparing to go,* you will see a diverse group with many gifts and abilities to offer the Tingles, the people of Nicaragua and the Lord.  This group is already very involved in the ministry of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  Now they take another step in following Christ’s great commission – to the ends of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

What is ahead?  The team will be in Nicaragua August 4 – 11. We will be getting more specific information in June, but for now we know we will be involved in some phase of construction of a new building.  We will also have opportunities to help in the classrooms, to plan a special project with the children and to join in their games.  The team will go out several evenings to be part of worship services – singing, speaking or just participating with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Nicaragua.  The Tingles also are looking to our team for site planning and computer help.

What can you do? Our BLC Nicaragua Team will be the “Goers”.  We welcome your participation on the “Sender” team. 

• Pray now that team members will have wisdom and peace as we proceed with details and training.

• The team needs financial help. Some of the “goers” are able to cover part or all of their expenses, but some team members need significant financial help.  At this point it looks like per person expenses for the trip come to $1700 – this includes plane fare, airport fee, insurance, and all expenses in Nicaragua.  When we know what projects we will be working on and what supplies we need, we will let you know how you can help collect what is needed.
