A NOTE FROM CHURCH COUNCIL PDF Print E-mail

On behalf of your Church Council, I would like to extend thanks to a number of members of our congregation after a momentous Voters Meeting on June 8th.  As you’ll read in another article in this edition of the Star, the voters assembled at this meeting approved the adoption of the Schematic Design as the preferred vision for a Phase 1 building program, and the voters approved moving forward with a capital stewardship campaign this Fall.   This is a meaningful milestone in the life of our congregation.  We truly appreciate the diversity of opinions that were expressed before and during the meeting about these important topics.  We celebrate the fact that the process was thorough, thoughtful and respectful.  Thanks to everyone in the congregation who participated in our planning process and deliberations.

At this juncture, it’s important to extend a special thank you to the very dedicated members of our congregation who have invested endless hours, energy and effort over the past 18 months serving as members of our Facilities and Financing Task Forces.  Their names are shown below.

Facilities Task Force:
Wes Greenman, Chair
Bill Cushing
Fred Horton
Bob Matthews
Marie Millspaugh
Mike Mineau
Ralph Schultz
Todd Vogel

Financing Task Force:
David Schultz, Chair
Bill Collins
Brian Grabek
Karl Johnson
Diana Lajeunesse
Pat Leighton
Peter Smith
Dave Vail
Rick Zimmerman

We are truly excited about the promise of growing God’s kingdom and our BLC ministry in 2014 and beyond.  The planning effort for the capital stewardship campaign has already begun, so keep your eyes, ears and hearts open as key dates and programs in the fall are announced over the next few months.

In His Name,

Larry Richardson
Congregational President

Daily Verse

John 15:5,8
“?I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. This is to my Father?s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
