HELP FOR THE HOMELESS PDF Print E-mail

Our High School Youth Group made up 150 homeless kits for members of our congregation to give out to needy people with whom we cross paths.  The idea is pretty simple…pick one up after any of our services and put it in your car.   When you see a homeless person asking for help, simply give it to him or her.    You can find the kits in a box under the big screen in the front foyer of the main building OR in the hall outside the Sanctuary of the Parish Hall.

BLC BOOK GROUP PDF Print E-mail

Our book selection to be discussed on Wednesday, February 8, is A Dictionary of Mutual Understanding, by Jackie Copleton.  We will meet in the Lounge at 7:00 PM. All are welcome.   A Dictionary of Mutual Understanding is historical fiction.  It takes place in Japan 40 years after WWII and the bombing of Nagasaki.  Its characters are the survivors and their memories of those long gone.

Unfortunately there are only four copies available in the System.  BPL also has one e-book and one audiobook, each available for three weeks.  It can be purchased on Amazon in different formats.

CORNELL COOPERATIVE EXTENSION NUTRITION CLASSES ARE BACK!!!!!! PDF Print E-mail

On February 7 at 6:30 PM we will welcome Karen Mort, Nutritionist, to learn about and prepare recipes used in MEDITERRANEAN COOKING.   We’ll meet in the Fellowship Hall for a presentation about the benefits of these healthy cooking techniques, using more olive oil, tasty vegetables and hearty whole grains for a heart healthy diet.  Afterward, we work in small groups to prepare some of the recipes, and then gather to taste and enjoy the results of our culinary efforts.  COME AND LEARN, SHARE IN THE FUN, AND BRING A FRIEND!  Pre-registration and a $4 fee to cover food costs is required. SIGN UP TODAY ON ONE OF THE “EVENTS” BOARDS in the hallways outside both worship services.  QUESTIONS? CALL Dorothy Schultz @458-7231.

Daily Verse

Galatians 6:7-8
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”
