"BUILT TOGETHER IN CHRIST" DIALOGUE SESSIONS PDF Print E-mail

If you are on the church office email blast list, you should have received a Question & Answer document this past week, which was prepared by the Building Together in Christ Project Team.   This document reflects topics discussed in the March 22nd congregational information sessions, along with responses to some follow-up questions posed by members of the congregation.  If you didn’t receive this document in your email, we have paper copies available on the shelf under the big screen in the front foyer of the main building and on the table outside the Sanctuary door in the Parish Hall.

In the on-going effort to gather input from and answer questions posed by all of those interested in the process, we are going to hold informal Q&A dialogue sessions on Sunday May 3rd during the Sunday School hour and after the late services. No formal presentation or proposals will be made at that time – it will be a forum for dialogue.  If you’re interested, please plan to attend one of these sessions!

And in the meantime, if you have comments or questions, please contact one of our Project Team members – names and contact info is presented on the last page of the attached Q&A document.  If you would like your email address added to our blast email list so you receive future communications, please call or email the office (439-4328 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE PDF Print E-mail

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS! BLC has three scholarship funds:  the David Nestlen Memorial Fund, the Bud & Gaye Rukwid Scholarship Fund, and the Winterhoff Scholarship Fund.  Each year, the annual interest earned on these funds is awarded as a scholarship to qualifying students.  Over the past years, these scholarships have helped many students pay for the costs of higher education.  The application forms for these scholarships are available under the big screen near the Church Office.  The application forms explain the criteria used to award each of the individual scholarships.  Distribution of the scholarships will be mid-October.  If you have any questions, please contact a member of the Stewardship Ministry Team.  Deadline to apply for scholarships is Sunday, June 14th

BIBLE STUDIES DURING THE WEEK PDF Print E-mail

Women’s Monday Night Bible Study -

The Monday Night Women's Bible study will be starting a new 8-week study on March 30th. We will be reading and studying God's Word and Max Lucado's book Before Amen.  Here is an excerpt from the book.  “Prayer is not a privilege for the pious, not the art of a chosen few.  Prayer is simply the heartfelt conversation between God and His child.  My friend, He wants to talk to you.  Even now, as you read these words, He taps at the door.  Open it. Welcome Him in.”

This study was prayerfully designed to help us connect with God, discover our confidence in our God-given prayer strength, overcome disappointment in unanswered prayer, and trust that God hears us, and will calm the chaos of the world so that we can find peace and rest.  We are hoping and praying to see you there!

NEW TOPIC!  Women's Wednesday Morning Bible Study -
We will be beginning a Focus on the Family study entitled "Created Beautiful."  This is a great time to  join us and learn the true nature of beauty, and the "beasts" that can obscure it in us. Wednesdays at 10 am in the lounge.   For info, contact Judy Nestlen ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 768-2602)

NEW TOPIC!  Thursday Morning Coed Bible Study -
We will be beginning a study in 2 Timothy, a very personal letter, probably written near the time of Paul's martyrdom. Come join us in the lounge, Thursdays at 10 am.  For more info, contact Judy Nestlen ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 768-2602)

Women’s Saturday Morning Bible Study -

Join us in exploring the power of the words we speak through the "Speaking Wisely" study guide by Poppy Smith.  We will learn what the Bible has to say about the power of words to harm relationships and to hinder God’s work in our own lives as well as helping us cultivate words of encouragement, love and praise to God.  Each lesson is complete on its own.   There are extra study guides so please join us when you can.   We usually meet in the Overflow Room from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on the 1st & 3rd Saturdays of each month.  Occasionally we will meet in the home of Linda Dunkerley.  Contact Linda Dunkerley at 439-7202 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   with questions or for information.  Please call her if you are coming for the first time so she can tell you where they are meeting.

Men’s Saturday Morning Breakfast & Bible Study –
Your stomachs and spirits will be nourished if you join us for our bi-monthly breakfasts and Bible study.  The next meetings are May 2nd & Mary 16th 7:30 to 9:00 a.m.

Daily Verse

John 15:5,8
“?I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. This is to my Father?s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
